An Ode To My Mother

In my mother's arms

Mother! people say you have passed away
I say you have come closer in a greater way
You who were living in one body till now
Have now come out to be there everywhere

I feel your warmth in the warmth of the Sun
I feel your coolness in the coolness of the Moon
Your beauty and brightness in every flower I pass by
I see your color and lightness in every butterfly

When I want to see your smile again
I will bring it on the face of a fellow human
When I want to hug you once more
There are myriads of people in the world and more

You are not gone, you are there
Watching over me, protecting me and loving me
I’m receiving it all, arms outstretched
With love, gratitude and joy

Thank You ma for the things I didn’t thank you for
And Sorry ma for the things I didn’t say sorry for
Mother ’s love is not a medicine with side-effects or expiry date
It’s a divine elixir which only gets better every passing day

There was a time I was in your womb
We were two bodies but one being
This time you have merged in me
And we are one again for all the time remaining
